Job Description:

Part-Time FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Single Engine Certificate.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Flight Instructor is responsible for conduct flight and ground instruction under 14 CFR Part 61.

Maintain student training records in accordance with Hinds Community College Commercial Aviation policy.

Maintain training standards as set forth by FAA regulations.

Conduct “ground” training and “flight” training to teach the student the basics of flying an aircraft and to help them prepare for the written test.

Instruct student pilots in “live flight” to ensure competency and proper aimanship.

Must have a Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate

Must have a Current Second-Class FAA Medical

Prefer in addition to CFI Single engine: Instrument Flight Instructor and Multi Engine Flight Instructor

Special Instructions to Applicants

Please be prepared to teach a maneuver 15 minute lesson covering “Power-Off Stall”.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate Required

Associates Degree or higher from an Accredited College or University is preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following.

o Instruct student pilots in “live flight” to ensure competency and proper airmanship

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise “ground” training and “flight” training for their student(s).
