Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer IIJob Description

As an Embedded Software Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in the development of medical device software systems. You will drive software quality efforts, providing expertise in embedded software development, software configuration management, and continuous integration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of life-changing medical devices.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in C++ application development in embedded space within a real-time environment

  • 3+ years of RECENT experience with RTOS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field

  • Hands-on experience on user space application development on Embedded Linux

  • Knowledge on multithreading, memory management, debugging using GDB

  • Advanced expertise in Embedded Software Development

  • Knowledge on Operating systems and multithreaded programming

  • Proven track record of successfully leading technically complex development projects and transitions to production

  • Understanding of Open System Interconnection (OSI) model and its application to network design

  • Proficiency with open source cross-compiler tools and Linux kernel development

  • Demonstrated software programming proficiency in C, C++, and scripting

  • Strong understanding of processor and hardware requirements around embedded Linux

  • Knowledge on Agile/Scrum based product development

  • Experience in microprocessor/microcontroller bring-up and embedded device drivers

  • Experience in working in a Continuous Integration (CI) environment

  • Experience with Software Configuration Management

  • Strong grasp of scripting languages such as Python

  • Understanding of electronic circuitry: board bring up and interfacing with on and off chip peripherals such as USB, SPI, UART, I2C, ADC’s and DAC’s

  • Ability to excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Raleigh, North Carolina and some days remote.
