Actalent Assistant Superintendent in Raleigh, North Carolina

Our company is a leading general contractor in the Southeast, specializing in a wide range of construction services, including planning, pre-construction, construction management, design-build, renovation, and new construction. We work on projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, industrial, and biotechnology. We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects. This role involves coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining project documentation.
Responsibilities
Assist the Superintendent in planning, managing, and implementing project schedules to meet deadlines.
Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
Select tools, materials, and equipment, and track inventory.
Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and standards.
Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.
Document violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and building codes.
Participate in meetings to discuss construction progress and project scheduling.
Maintain project documentation and daily logs.
Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during the construction process.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience with commercial construction.
Experience with construction supervision and management.
Familiarity with Procore software.
Experience in subcontractor management.
Experience in project scheduling.
Work Environment
The Assistant Superintendent will work on construction sites, coordinating with various teams and managing project activities. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. The work environment can be physically demanding and may involve working in varying weather conditions. Standard working hours apply, but flexibility is required to meet project deadlines.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
