Director, Software Engineering

Overview

The Loyalty Rewards & Segments program is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to drive the solutions to enable our customers to optimize their loyalty programs from beginning to end. We build and manage global solutions that enable merchants and issuers to offer points, miles, or cashback benefits seamlessly to their cardholders. Customers are able to build and implement custom promotions using our sophisticated rules engine to target spend categories or target increasing engagement with cardholders. The ideal candidate is passionate about the technology, proven records of delivering large scale initiatives.

Role

The Director of Software Development Engineering will be responsible for leading the development teams to create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market. This position interacts with product managers, product implementation team, engineering leaders, software developers and business operations on the definition and delivery of highly scalable and secure solutions.

The role includes:

• Collaborate with the Product team on creating innovative solutions and prioritization of the implementation.

• Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies

• Responsible for integration of vendor-provided systems and custom-built products with existing components

• Have ownership of your team’s software and are deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies

• Manage cost allocation, drive optimization while delivering on business needs in the area of ownership

• Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global environment

• Hold people and teams accountable and effectively delegate responsibilities down to the team

• Recruit and hire diverse talent

All About You

• Has experience in leading and coaching global teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs; has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set the right development capacity based on value drivers

• Understands software development productivity metrics and helps teams to remove blockers and continuously improve code velocity and quality

• Excellent written and oral communications, including communicating technical complexities in a simple to understand manner

• Ability to operate effectively independently and in ambiguous situations

• Competent career coach that can manage a cross-disciplinary technical staff

• Expertise in micro-services, event driven architecture

• Expertise in Web applications (Springboot Angular, Java, PCF), Web Services (REST/OAuth), and Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase)
