What You’ll Do

  • Perform day-to-day support on servers, including administration, housekeeping, maintenance, OS upgrades, and security controls and checks.

  • Address server-related issues of varying complexity, from simple to complex.

  • Execute patching and upgrades according to the plan.

  • Configure health checks and take appropriate actions based on alerts and checks.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.

  • Work closely with development, data engineering, and security teams to integrate new features and improvements into the cloud infrastructure.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the SoPs, processes, and procedures.

  • Plan and execute backup, snapshot, and recovery procedures for cloud-based data platform.

  • Automate routine activities to improve efficiency.

  • Utilize Change & Problem Management Tools for planned and unplanned maintenance.

  • Handle daily housekeeping tasks using tools and scripts.

  • Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all major and minor incidents.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend actions.

  • Build and deliver periodic SLA and other reports to management.

  • Operate in a 24x7 environment with shift roster-based duties.

The position will report to Delivery Manager, Cloud Operations.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux Administration

  • Proficient in handling Linux Systems Administration tasks on RedHat and SLES Linux

  • Skilled in performance monitoring and experienced in monitoring tools administration.

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware.

  • Proficient in implementing SSSD, LDAP, and other identity and authentication tools.

  • Experience with one or more scripting and programming languages, such as Shell, Perl, or Python.

  • Experience with automation tools like Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud administration, or at least mid-level cloud certifications.

  • Proficient in performance monitoring and reporting for compute, storage, and network resources.

  • Good understanding of networking and storage concepts

  • Experience with Datadog for monitoring and performance optimization will be a significant advantage

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of ITIL (certification will be an advantage)

  • Hands-on with an industry standard ITIL tool (ServiceNow experience preferred)

  • Flexibility and Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment and adapt to shift schedules as per the roster

  • Extensive experience in managing and optimizing large and complex Azure or GC environments, including VM, Blob, Databases, and VPC/VNET configurations.

  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers.

  • Expertise in managing patching and upgrades of Linux-hosted applications to ensure security and performance

  • Teradata VantageCloud knowledge or experience (will be an advantage)
