Description: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Branch Supervisor of the Vista Hermosa Library is responsible for efficient operation of the branch library and management of the facility; as a member of the Branch Supervisors team, provides input in the development of library policies and procedures; provides assistance to patrons; writes monthly reports for the board and director; manages cash handling and some aspects of the budget; oversees and participates in the planning of library programming for children, teens, and the community at large; oversees library publicity and social media; and participates in district-wide training opportunities and planning. The Bilingual Outreach Associate role will be responsible for supporting outreach programming, circulation, and customer service functions. Outreach work is based at the Administrative Center but performs outreach duties including branch circulation, program prep, bookmobile collection maintenance, Spanish language assistance, tabling at events, acting as a representative of the District at community locations and events, general assistance to the Outreach and Bookmobile Supervisor, substituting at District branches for planned and unplanned absences, and other duties as needed. Current staffing for the position is 29 hours per week total, with 21 hours at Vista Hermosa Library (Tuesday & Thursdays 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm) and 8 hours per week for Outreach. The Outreach schedule will be developed in partnership with the Branch Operations Coordinator to accommodate various events, but will typically be Wednesdays/Fridays 10:30am-2:30pm. The position works closely with the Executive Director, Collections Development Managers, Technology Manager, Cataloger, and ILL Specialist, Administrative Specialist, and Finance Coordinator.
