Job Title: Hydraulic/Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

The main goal of this position is to design and support modifications to OEM machines. Although most machines are hydraulically operated, an increasing number of electrical components are being introduced into heavy machinery. A key part of this role involves reading and understanding machine hydraulic and electrical schematics. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of machine hydraulic systems and familiarity with Plus 1 software for programming.

Responsibilities

  • Design and support modifications to OEM machines.

  • Read and understand machine hydraulic and electrical schematics.

  • Design and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Create schematics and bills of materials for production.

  • Design and test new systems.

  • Assist with other design projects using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar software.

  • Install, program, and repair programmable controllers.

Qualifications Needed

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.

  • Experience in designing and troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or Creo, or other 3D CAD modeling software.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE) is beneficial but not required.

  • Experience with hydraulics is essential.

  • Basic programming knowledge in Plus 1 software is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both office areas for engineering work and shop floor areas. The shop environment is not temperature controlled, so candidates must be comfortable working in cold and warm conditions. The role involves physically demanding tasks such as climbing up and down large off-road machinery and getting dirty while handling equipment. Flexibility in work hours is provided, with the ability to set your own schedule and start as early as 6 AM. The office atmosphere is supportive, with a family feel and a strong team ethic.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
