Robert Half Plant Financial Manager in Portage, Michigan

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance in the manufacturing industry, located in PORTAGE, Michigan, United States. The role involves managing financial data and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and interpreting General Ledger account balances and assuring their accuracy. They will also be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process and performing other financial duties as required.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper process of the Accounts Payable and their payments

• Direct and supervise the work activities of the Financial Coordinator

• Maintain, analyze, and interpret General Ledger account balances and assure their accuracy

• Gather and substantiate information for the development of the Plant’s budget

• Assist the General Manager and Department Managers with understanding the financial reports and with gathering information they may require

• Advise and monitor compliance with administrative policy and procedure

• Understand and be the source of information pertaining to the financial use of the computer system

• Have a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes and their representation through the Bills of Material

• Prepare data for and work with auditors as required

• Perform all other duties as directed by the Corporate Financial Manager, Manufacturing. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management

• Experience with General Ledger operations

• Ability to develop and manage Annual Budgets

• Proven track record of preparing Monthly Financial Reports

• Experience in preparing comprehensive Financial Reports

• Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM)

• Knowledge of Cost Accounting principles

• Strong background in Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

• Advanced knowledge of financial software and MS Office

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or relevant certification is a plus)
