Job Summary
Are you a passionate and innovative culinary professional looking for an exciting opportunity? The Crossvines in Poolesville, MD, is seeking a dynamic Catering Chef to join our team with Restaurant Associates. As the Catering Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our Culinary Department, ensuring exceptional service and culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist the culinary team in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
Collaborate with the culinary team in planning and creating innovative menus.
Produce and execute high-quality catering events that exceed client expectations.
Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the company's marketing and culinary team.
Supervise, prepare, and cook various food items, ensuring top-notch quality and presentation.
Develop daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment.
Supervise hourly associates and assist with ordering and inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts.
Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
Catering experience is a preferred
Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
Institutional and batch cooking experience is helpful.
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the internet.
Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
