Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Plymouth, Minnesota

Description We are in need of a Senior Accountant to join our team located in Plymouth, Minnesota. This role is within the manufacturing industry and requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable with a variety of accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with month-end processes, analyzing gross profit margins, and working closely with our manufacturing plants on cycle count processes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end processes, focusing on balancing inventory and making related entries for transfers and variances

• Calculate and analyze gross profit margins and report results to Finance and Operations personnel

• Collaborate with U.S. manufacturing plants on cycle count processes and labor/overhead rates

• Apply cost analysis principles to inventory management processes, gross profit, and reporting

• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor absorption, and identify variances and areas of improvement

• Assist in the calculation of work center rates for manufacturing facilities

• Conduct review of completed shop orders and analyze large variances, identifying potential changes to processes

• Perform annual cost roll process, including change analysis

• Undertake other duties, special projects, and analysis as assigned

• Annual Standard Cost Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Demonstrated ability to work with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must

• Experience in Month End Close procedures is required

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is highly desirable

• Must have experience in Annual Standard Cost accounting

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple timelines

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with others

• Detail-oriented and excellent concentration ability

• Self-motivated, self-directed and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable
