This position is responsible for designing and creating mechanical construction documents. Utilize BIM principles and techniques to leverage model information , improve spatial coordination, and increase modeling efficiency. Work closely with project lead to supply engineered drawings to building owners, architects, and/or contractors. Create designs in Revit from customer supplied drawings for plumbing and mechanical drawings. Accurately place Revit families in a 3D model and resolve spatial conflicts. Perform ventilation and plumbing calculations based on local codes. Design duct and piping layout for HVAC and plumbing systems, equipment placement, and mechanical design of a project with minimal assistance from a senior level person. Create schedules of mechanical and plumbing equipment such as handling units, plumbing fixtures, etc. Coordinate with other trades such as electrical (in house or outside firms). Attend design related meetings with clients to present and define their needs, providing project status, and respond to requests or concerns - both verbally or in writing. Review drawings and research codes to verify compliance with city, state, and county requirements. Review submittals to ensure compliance with city, state and county regulations. Manage multiple projects at one time. Communicate with customers, contractors, and building officials to ensure a properly designed building. Work in office with a team to collaborate, learn from each other, and synergize with team to pruduce outstanding drawings.
