Job Title: Stationary Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Valley Care Site in Pleasanton, CA. This role involves operating and maintaining steam generating boilers, performing major repairs, and participating in the preventative maintenance program on all mechanical and electrical distribution systems. The successful candidate will work the swing shift from 2pm to 10:30pm.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain steam generating boilers, following manufacturer’s recommended procedures.
Participate in preventative maintenance programs on all mechanical and electrical distribution systems.
Inspect oxygen, gas, steam, and water pipelines; perform repairs and fabrications as necessary.
Perform periodic test runs of emergency generating plants to ensure operations during an emergency.
Maintain all required records and information pertinent to cost out work assignments, including materials and labor.
Determine whether repair or replacement is necessary and prioritize the schedule of repairs.
Consistently check and perform all fire and safety equipment checks, maintaining required fire and safety code records.
Install, maintain, and repair various machinery, equipment, and fixtures in the hospital following applicable building codes.
Assist in major and minor utility shutdowns requested by various departments, outside contractors, and in-house.
Essential Skills
Experience in HVAC, electrical, troubleshooting, facilities maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining boilers and chillers.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and facility maintenance tasks.
Strong skills in building maintenance and stationary engineering.

Work Environment
This position is onsite at the hospital. The maintenance team is comprised of electricians, HVAC specialists, carpenters, plumbers, locksmiths, and general maintenance staff. Contractors will work alongside healthcare engineers for maintenance requests. Initial training will be on the day shift from 6am to 2:30pm for two months. The main shift will be from 3pm to 11:30pm, with varying days off (Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasanton, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
