Job Title: Mechanical QC Technician

Job Description

An electronic manufacturing company in Plano is seeking a Mechanical QC Technician to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a 80/9 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of quality control and inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reading blueprints and specifications

  • Monitoring operations to ensure that they meet production standards

  • Recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process

  • Inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products being produced

  • Measuring products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers

  • Operating inspection equipment

  • Accepting or rejecting finished items

  • Removing all products and materials that fail to meet specifications

  • Reporting inspection and testing data

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a QC Inspector or similar position

  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools

  • Ability to read manufacturing DWGs and symbols

  • Math skills for data reporting, measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications

  • Availability to work overtime as needed

  • High school diploma

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems, specifically Costpoint

  • Attention to detail

  • Physical strength to lift packages by hand

  • Reliability, self-starter, and quick on your feet

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled with only two people in the quality group, working under a quality lead who will handle most of the paperwork. This newly created role will assist with hands-on inspection. The job involves standing most of the day, occasional squatting, sitting in a work chair, and lifting up to 25 pounds a few times a day, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.20 - $40.00/hr.
