Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Fault Isolation & Management Engineer, RAN, Wireless NOC will be supporting DISH Wireless’ 24/7 Network Operations Center. A FIM RAN Engineer will work closely with the RAN Vendors/Engineering, and peers across DISH to ensure that wireless projects and new initiatives to ensure platform related outages are resolved within SLA. The FIM Engineer will be responsible to observe & fix the RAN network, creating & provide initial troubleshooting of Mavenir & Samsung related incident tickets. The FIM Engineer will work with a sense of urgency to solve issues efficiently and effectively to restore service to our customers, escalating issues to Advance Ops when necessary.

This position will escalate complex issues to our Advanced Operations & Engineering resources, and will determine root-causes for failure and develop corrective actions. Corrective actions can range from configuration changes to developing new operational procedures. This position will contribute to on-going process improvement reviews using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics to eliminate errors, maximize hardware/software efficiencies, and increase service up-time leading to an overall excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end monitoring of RAMS EMS and observability tools, ensuring incident resolution and technical troubleshooting.

  • Lead outage and service degradation management, performing initial RCA and coordinating with vendors and engineering teams.

  • Oversee market chat groups, incident prioritization, and site health checks post-maintenance.

  • Manage incident response, ticket analysis, and escalation processes to ensure SLA adherence and optimal backlog levels.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document troubleshooting steps, improve processes, and enhance automation.

  • Maintain national network availability above 99.90%, ensuring service uptime and a seamless customer experience.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology

  • Minimum of 7+ years' of telecom/wireless experience working in a RAN domain

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive expertise in 5G ORAN split functions, RAN/vRAN software architectures, and virtualized environments.

  • Deep understanding of RF radio operations over eCPRI interfaces, including CSR, DU, and timing configurations.

  • Strong knowledge of vRAN/ORAN architectures per 3GPP standards (Rel 15 & 16) and network orchestration.

  • Proficiency in LTE, VoLTE, 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows, with the ability to analyze traces (PCAP, GNB).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, and ability to work under pressure in high-impact scenarios.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with excellent organization and people management skills.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $83,160.00/Year - $110,000.00/Year
