Administrative Assistant
The School of Public Health is hiring an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology (IDM). This position provides administrative, logistical, and technical support for the implementation of the educational activities and related activities and research of the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center (MAAETC) and related projects.
The selected candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as proficiency in writing and editing manuscripts and reports. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, securing event locations, coordinating marketing materials, sending confirmation packets to speakers, and making catering arrangements with supervision of regional coordinator and Assistant Director and PI. At the time of in-person or virtual events the Administrative Assistant will coordinate activities, registration and liaise with event staff. This individual will also be responsible for the support of the PI and Assistant Director in IDM courses including but not limited to AV, posting in CANVAS, and other related tasks. This individual will coordinate the main office materials and supplies for the project staff. Skills in typing, word processing and data management are essential as this individual will be typing educational materials, grant documents, correspondence for the project and the PI.
This position will require work on some evenings and weekends. There will be some travel and overnight stays. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel via air, train, or automobile on highways in all types of weather. All-Temp employees are prohibited from driving their personal vehicles for work purposes and will be provided with a university vehicle or a rental car.
An Associate Degree or completion of business program preferred or two years of relevant administrative experience in relevant administrative, marketing and/or event planning, computers, data management and organizational ability and experience.
