General Summary: 

This position supports the Human Resources activities at our American Centrifuge locations in Piketon, OH through activities including: recruiting, benefits, training, diversity, performance management, employee and labor relations and wage and salary administration.  Responsibilities include providing guidance on semi-routine HR matters, interpreting policies, and maintaining HR records, including personnel files. The selected candidate will be expected to quickly respond to needs and changes while providing attention to detail, organizational skills, and have the ability to anticipate needs and meet tight deadlines.  The candidate must possess a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.  The successful candidate will operate with professionalism when interfacing with internal and external customers.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Implements, administers and communicates human resources policies, procedures and programs to managers and employees.
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and corporate guidelines. 
  • Supports hiring managers through the recruiting process, including preparing job postings. 
  • Produces metrics and reports regarding all employment activity, including affirmative action plans. 
  • Provides advice and counsel to employees and managers regarding benefits, performance management, corrective action, human resources policies and procedures and other human resources areas as required.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining agreement. 
  • Handles routine issues related to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Prepares internal employee communications regarding Human Resources or company policies. 
  • Creates, reviews and maintains position descriptions, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance. 
  • Administers HRIS processes, resolves technical issues and provides support and training to end-users. 
  • Participates in developing and presenting Human Resources related training; coordinates with management to determine employee needs and training effectiveness. 
  • Provides orientation and/or new hire training to new employees. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S) in Human Resources, Psychology or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in human resources or related field.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used HR concepts, practices, and procedures including recruiting, compensation, labor relations, job evaluation and descriptions
  • Proficiency with MS Office products: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q security clearance.

Preferred

  • PHR or SPHR Certification 
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Software
  • Experience with ADP WorkForce Now HR Software
