Comcast Cable Communications, LLC Sr. Software Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Provide technical leadership in designing and developing system software tests using Python, Java, and C#; use Pytest framework to implement code in modular reusable components for system testing; use SQL databases, including MySQL, MSSQL, and Oracle, to write and optimize queries to create, update, and retrieve data for system testing; use Jenkins for continuous integration; develop software in an Agile environment; work with AWS cloud technologies; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative science field, and five (5) years of experience using MySQL to write and optimize queries to create, update, and retrieve data for system testing; of which two (2) years include developing system software tests using Python, Java, or C#; using test frameworks, including Pytest, Java with Selenium, or Cypress to implement code in modular reusable components for system testing; developing software in an Agile environment; and working with cloud technologies, including AWS, GCP, or Azure; and of which one (1) year includes using MSSQL and Oracle; and using Jenkins for continuous integration.*
