The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities associated with visits to the practice/department. Obtains pre certifications and/or pre authorizations for procedures, verifies insurance, referrals and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors to maintain an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms. Schedule hours are6:30am-3:00pm Essential Functions: bull; Greet and check in patients at the front desk and complete related case management notes on a daily basis bull; Inform patients of any upcoming appointments at the time of the check -in bull; Complete patient reminder phone calls for all medical and psychiatric provider appointments as per scheduled timelines bull; Reschedule provider appointment no-shows and cancellations within 48 hours bull; Obtain new patient photos and upload them in the patientrsquo;s chart in the EHR by Friday of each week bull; Issue patient identification cards and have clients sign the patient identification card form in the EHR by Friday of each week bull; Manage all incoming phone calls; check for voicemail and disseminate the messages on the voicemail machine to the appropriate staff on a daily basis bull; Manage all incoming fax documentation and sort and store them in the appropriate staffrsquo;s mailbox on a daily basis Additional Functions:
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Processes check in and/or check out, point of service activities and/or scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
Obtains pre certifications and/or pre uthorizations for procedures.
Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Education:
HS Diploma or equivalent required.
AND
Experience:
Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred.
