Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Pentagon, Virginia
Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, assessing, planning, integrating, coordinating, and providing military advice regarding Joint, Multinational, Interagency and other Mission Partner logistics information systems, information and data-related strategies, concepts, technologies and capabilities, and digital modernization strategies. Responsibilities As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GG-0346-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Identifying, documenting and prioritizing CCMD and Joint Staff logistics information requirements and researching and recommending authoritative data sources to guide the development of data connections, visualization applications and products within the Advancing Analytics (Advana) data and analytical platform in support of the J4's Operational Logistics initiative. Providing logistics cyber assessments and recommendations for several Joint Staff global integration products, including but not limited to the Chairman's Risk Assessment, and the review of Globally Integrated Base Plans. Representing the J4 in several OSD and Joint Staff-led forums and working groups. Providing J4 analysis and assessment of cyber-related issues and topics presented or reviewed within the Executive Leadership Forum. Preparing staffs and reviewing correspondence, issuing papers, briefings and various articles related to Joint logistics information systems matters and provides information and recommendations to senior logistics personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GG-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 13 grade level in the Federal service: Providing doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities - policy (DOTMLPF-P) analysis, assessments and best military advice for Joint, Multinational, and Interagency logistics information systems. Identifying/tracking metrics, and recommending potential data sources. Providing analysis, assessments, and best military advice regarding risk of cyber threats to critical logistics missions and infrastructure. Preparing staffs and reviews correspondence, issuing papers, briefings and various articles related to Joint logistics information systems matters. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
