DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The person occupying this role will oversee the operations of the PENNDOT Welcome Centers. You and your team will be tasked with delivering precise, efficient, and helpful information and resources to travelers visiting these facilities, thereby assisting them in planning their journeys. As a representative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, you will greet and assist guests while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the state's highways, transportation networks, public and private attractions, recreational areas, events, weather updates, accommodations, and tourist sites, ensuring that visitors receive relevant printed materials.
Moreover, the role encompasses responsibilities related to public relations and the enhancement of both internal and external communications to optimize operational effectiveness. This includes organizing quarterly meetings focused on events, programs, and services, among other tasks. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
This position works a 6-week rotating schedule. Days and hours can vary from Sunday to Saturday
Temporary hours of operation are 9:00 AM to-5:30 PM.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Tourist Information Counselor; or
Two years of experience in work involving public contact; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions .
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Supervisory experience.
