DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will supervise a staff of maintenance and trades engaged in the construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of facilities at Codorus State Park. You are primarily responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, roads, facilities, and equipment. Some other duties involve planning and organizing park maintenance, assigning tasks to subordinates, reviewing their work, and coordinating projects with the Field Design Center (FDC) to ensure efficient operation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch

  • Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Park Maintenance Supervisor 1 (commonwealth title); or

  • Five years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience in two of the following: electrical trades, plumbing trades, carpentry trades, mechanical trades, water or wastewater treatment plant operations, or the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
