Naval Facilities Engineering Command PURCHASING AGENT in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the Supply Branch of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. Responsibilities You will requisition and makes purchases of supplies, material, equipment and services. You will review and screen Material Request Forms (MRFs) and Purchase Requests (PRs) for accuracy. You will track and maintain up-to-date on the status of all requisitions and purchases. You will resolve all discrepancies with services and material orders. You will document all purchases in accordance with current regulations and instructions. You will reconcile and validate monthly credit card statements Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is as follows: 1) Utilizing/applying knowledge of acquisition supply systems, purchase regulations, methods, policies and procedures, the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program, and procedures to purchase needed complex supplies, equipment and technical services; 2) Conducting extensive market research/searches for required information and making purchases within government regulations, policies and procedures; 3) Analyzing requisition and procurement requests for compliance and accuracy, and analyzing technical data, supporting documents, and reference material from various listings, supply catalogs, and manufacturers' catalogs and to prepare and maintain records, reconcile reports/data, research and reconcile discrepancies; and 4) Communicating effectively with vendors, customers and other Government offices to clarify requirements, prioritize work, negotiate cost and delivery terms, obtain and provide status, expedite material, and resolve problems. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary.
