Randstad is looking for an experienced Accountant for the Griffin area. This position is comprehensive and multifaceted within the finance and operations team. To be successful in this role, you must have Cost Accounting experience, a minimum of 2 years experience in Accounting in a Manufacturing Facility and a minimum of 5 years total as a Sr. Accountant or higher. Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the Senior Cost Accountant to ensure the accuracy of recorded expenses.
Regularly review expense reports, comparing them against budget forecasts and previous periods to identify variances and trends.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all entries are backed by adequate supporting documentation.
Manage the process of expense workflows and coding, ensuring all expenses are correctly classified.
Implement a system for coding requests and reviews to streamline the process and reduce errors.
Assist in the approval process for fixed asset acquisitions and maintain an accurate inventory.
Ensure all fixed assets are properly documented, tagged, and depreciated according to company policy.
Document and support the annual and periodic standard cost roll processes.
Identify opportunities to enhance the ERP system and cost accounting processes.
Maintain and update reports for monthly and quarterly financial reviews using tools like Syteline/CSI, Power BI, and Oracle FCCS.
Ensure data accuracy and timely report generation.
Assist in preparing the annual budget and conduct monthly variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies.
Work closely with the Senior Cost Accountant to refine budget forecasts and financial models.
Support evaluations of internal controls, ensuring compliance with JSOX and other regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and reviews to identify potential financial risks.
Skills
CPA or MBA
Accounting for manufacturing (2 years of experience is required)
Accountant (5 years of experience is required)
US GAAP (1 year of experience is required)
Cost Accounting (2 years of experience is preferred)
Power BI (2 years of experience is preferred)
