Engineering Intern
The Engineering Intern is an entry-level position that will provide technical support to the design engineering teams, testing of
products, first article inspections, drafting, and documenting processes and results.

Our Engineering department in Pasco, WA is now looking for a Engineering Intern.
Key Tasks
Support the Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams for Manual Wheelchair Development
Execute verification testing required for either new product development or sustaining engineering changes. Support through protocol generation, setup of tests leveraging necessary hardware, execution of tests, teardown, and report generation
Conduct first article inspections required to qualify and release new parts and/or vendors as required by the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Support in drafting of part specifications, when required, under the supervision of an engineer
Create engineering documentation including work instructions and test reports.
Support documentation and maintenance of test fixtures
Complete assigned tasks and communicate professionally and effectively at various levels of the Permobil team
Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks
Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making
Normally receives detailed technical instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
Build 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks
Build prototypes and perform product testing from instructions

Your Background
Second, third-, or fourth-year engineering major. Mechanical preferred
Proficiency with 3D-modelling tools, SolidWorks preferred.
Familiarity with operation of hand tools and equipment
Interest in mechanical systems design, fabrication, maintenance, and operation
Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner, both verbally and in written format. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other communication tools

Additional Information
Salary: Hourly rate of $20-30 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm with OT possibilities.
Vacation or PTO: No PTO as this is a temporary position.
Sick Time: Per Washington State law, one hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked, with the ability to roll over up to 40 hours into the next year.
Benefits: No health benefits as this is a temporary position.
401K eligibility on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. Permobil offers Safe Harbor matching, with immediate vesting.
Holidays: 10 paid company holidays per year.
