Responsibilities
The Project Equipment Specialist is responsible for managing fleet equipment maintenance schedules, ordering and inventorying parts, coordinating equipment mobilization, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations for employee files. This role requires strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to support efficient fleet operations.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Fleet Maintenance & Lubrication Management:
Develop and maintain lubrication schedules for all fleet equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Monitor and track equipment service intervals, coordinating with mechanics and operators to prevent downtime.
Ensure proper fluids, filters, and lubricants are stocked and used according to manufacturer specifications.
Parts Procurement & Inventory Management:
Order and track parts and supplies for fleet maintenance and repairs.
Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and consumables to minimize downtime.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
Conduct regular inventory audits and adjust stock levels as needed.
Equipment Mobilization & Logistics:
Coordinate the transportation and mobilization of equipment to and from job sites.
Ensure equipment is properly inspected, fueled, and ready for deployment.
Work with project managers and field supervisors to plan mobilization schedules.
Employee DOT File & Compliance Management:
Maintain and update DOT compliance records, including driver qualification files, medical certifications, and MVR reports.
Track and ensure compliance with DOT regulations for driver logs, annual inspections, and drug/alcohol testing requirements.
Assist in scheduling DOT physicals, training sessions, and safety meetings for employees.
Qualifications
MinimumRequirements:
HIgh School Diploma/GED + 8 years of experience in construction, performing procurement and materials management functions
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of experience is preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge, inventory management, and organizational abilities.
Familiarity with DOT regulations, fleet maintenance best practices, and equipment mobilization.
Proficient in inventory tracking software, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office.
CDL (preferred but not required), DOT compliance knowledge, and relevant mechanical certifications.
Additional Information:
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $ 95,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
