Surgical Tech - Surgery

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surgical Tech to join our surgical team at St. John's Regional Medical Center. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures.

  • Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members.

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.

  • Collaborate with the nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.

  • Perform surgical counts and assist with the safe disposal of biohazardous materials.

  • Assist with the positioning and draping of patients.

  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of surgical equipment.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Surgical Tech I staff members.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.

  • Demonstrates advanced skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist

  • American Heart Associate CPR required

This position is represented by SEIU Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Range

$32.15 - $40.17 /hour
