Team & Job Overview
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Design, test and implement Salesforce applications that align with business requirements.
Customize solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and other tools.
Supports the key stakeholders in translating business needs into adequate technical solutions.
Develop CI/CD pipelines for smooth release management with Azure DevOps.
Troubleshoot and enhance existing Salesforce applications to improve user experience.
Leads activities related to the Software design, development and integration of information systems and platform technologies according to industry best practices and EDC standards.
Advocate for innovative, creative solutions to complex problems that broadly impact EDC.
Producing high quality, secure, scalable, performant code as part of middleware, integration, and migration components.
Guide the adoption of best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and other aspects of the software lifecycle.
Apply continually improving understanding of knowledge of EDC’s software, SDLC practices, and the industry in general.
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
Screening Criteria
Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 7 years’ experience working with production software integrations in an enterprise environment.
Extensive experience with Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, and SOQL/SOSL)
Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, Kafka, or middleware solutions.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps for deployment pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Git branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management.
Understanding of Salesforce security and compliance within financial services.
Assets
Experience in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud.
Understanding of banking, insurance, or financial regulations.
Salesforce Platform Developer certifications (e.g., Developer I and II)
Test Automation experience - Python
Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
Compensation Details
- Software Engineer 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,218 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location
Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Vancouver, Calgary or Halifax.
