The Lottery's mission is to grow revenue responsibly in order to maximize proceeds for outdoor recreation, conservation and schools for the good of all Coloradans.
What we do:
TheSales Department'spurpose is to distribute and sell Lottery games of chance that are held to the highest standards of integrity, entertainment and efficiency, in order to maximize proceeds for the people of Colorado and to support the retail network with the tools and information they need to maximize the sales of Lottery products.
Primary Duties:
The Lottery Sales Representative will work with and support a wide range of retailers in a set territory to maximize Lottery sales. This in turn results in meeting Lottery revenue goals to maximize proceeds provided to the Lottery proceeds recipients. This position is fully operational concerning outside sales, and manages an assigned territory within the State. Although this Lottery Sales Representative is considered fully operational, this position relies primarily on the guidance provided by management and immediate supervisors, as well as the established Sales Rep Handbook. The Lottery Sales Representative is regularly engaged in activities away from DOR facilities promoting and advising on the sales of Lottery products and promotions.
Sales & Marketing:
During physical retail visits, optimally locate, install, organize and maintain equipment including: ticket dispensers, ticket vending machines, automated jackpot signs, points of sale, wire rack and playcenter, troubleshooting issues, and online vendor collaboration for equipment issue resolution.
Manage and analyze the Lottery’s auto reorder system performance and settings (by retailer) to ensure optimization and compliance with auto
reorder rules.
Implement retail level, statewide sales plans for increasing sales and brand awareness.
Execute marketing directives with related materials while applying the High Five Sales Call methodology.
Identify retail locations with greatest sales potential and prioritize visit frequency along with optimal route effectiveness. Identify, execute and support various product promotions at retail locations.
Manage, evaluate and enforce on each retail visit: negotiation and ensure Compliance of retailer performance for incentive plan, compliance with security guidelines prohibiting underage play and all ensure all Lottery compliance requirements are met.
Work in conjunction with the inside sales team, tel sell representatives, to ensure Lottery programs are communicated and retailer needs are met.
Processes Scratch ticket returns and determines if any full pack returns can be re-distributed to other retail
locations within their territory, in order to increment sales.
Retailer Management and Promotions :
Proactively monitor and manage retailers’ inventory through during retail visits: ordering supplemental inventory to prevent out-of-stock situations and support upselling additional Scratch games, processing Scratch ticket returns and determining if any full pack returns can be redistributed to other retail locations within the territory, consistently distributing & stocking sufficient quantities of Lottery consumer education materials.
Provide sales consulting and customer service to retailers including creating & implementing strategic sales plans and monitoring results & trending for goal achievement. During physical retail visits
Support independent retailers’ incentive plan negotiation and achievement by ensuring standards and plan elements are in place. Maintain communications and contact with retailers on a regular basis.
Educate and train with regard to: equipment operation, sales strategies & techniques, merchandising and new game launches, inventory management & product security, WLA Training, player questions, and responsible gaming
Territory Analysis:
Monitor individual retailer-specific promotion progress ensuring compliance with promotional rules throughout and conducting a final evaluation to determine the Lottery’s ROI (return on investment).
Track progress of implemented and executed corporate/chain and statewide promotions.
Identify and address potential issues and problems identified through analysis and evaluation activities.
Design retailer-specific promotions establishing sales goals based on prior performance. Attend all retailer promotions in assigned territory
Evaluates and analyzes sales data to design retailer specific promotions in order to maximize Lottery sales and proceeds.
Sales Operations:
Expands personal knowledge of the Lottery industry’s best practices and standards by participating in on-going training and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the latest sales strategies and departmental policies/procedures.
Uses the Lottery’s auto reorder system to analyze/manage and enter auto reorder settings for all retail accounts within their territory.
Reviews retailer inventory to ensure auto reorder settings are accurate and follow the Lottery’s auto reorder rules.
Trains retail decision-makers and their staff on new game launches, system enhancements, courier developments, equipment operation/conversions, inventory management, maintaining the integrity and security of all Lottery products, sales trends, how to play jackpot games and Lottery policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Five (5) years of relevant experience in a sales, marketing, route delivery role and/or retail lottery experience.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education in Sales, Marketing, Business and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned (as stated above) equal to five (5) years.

Necessary Special Requirements:
