General Motors Sr. Payroll Analyst in Oshawa, Ontario
Job Description
* This is classified as a hybrid role. The role does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the expectation is that the employee be on-site three (3) days a week at the Oshawa office of General Motors of Canada Company.*
Reporting to the Canadian Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for hourly and/or salary employees. Ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial legislation and Union Contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to all GM Canada policies, procedures and established practices
Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements
Process weekly hourly and sub pay in accordance with legislation and Union contracts and/or processing of bi-monthly pay for salary employees
Oversee overpayment and off-cycle processing
Complete month end and year end activities
Perform audits/reviews and take corrective actions
Communicate with internal and external resources
Answer queries from employees and account reconcilers
Update, test, and trouble shoot systems issues
Ensure Accurate recording of various Time Codes
Processing of the daily Payroll In-Box
Accurate Absence Processing
Work on weekends and on holidays will be required
Project Work as required

Required Skills and Experience
Post Secondary Education required5+ years of Payroll experience
Strong Attention to Detail, input accuracy and processes
Willing to Work Until Outstanding Issues are Resolved
Self-Motivated
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office - especially Excel
Strong communication and organizational skills
Customer Service oriented
Ability to problem solve and provide resolution
Preferred Skills and Experience
Familiarity with SAP ADP Global View Payroll System
Familiarity with Kronos Time Keeping System
Familiarity with Workday HR System
Knowledge of Payroll Activities and Payroll accounting
Knowledge of Employment Standards and CRA Legislation
IBM COGNOS reporting, Power BI and Other Reporting Platforms
