Paycom Online System Administrator - Infrastructure in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
This role of System Administrator Infrastructure is to maintain the server and storage environment by identifying system requirements, provisioning new systems, installing upgrades, managing hardware and software maintenance and licensing. The System Infrastructure Team is responsible for all physical and virtual server infrastructure, storage arrays, and backups across all Paycom datacenters. As a System Administrator you will collaborate with the team in the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of all system infrastructure projects, tools and processes, as well as participate in troubleshooting, remediation, and documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot virtual machines, physical servers and storage appliances
Install and configure hardware & software
Work support tickets assigned to the System Infrastructure Team
Monitor system performance and logs and provide reports for managements awareness into the technical health of Paycom's infrastructure
Develop team documentation for day to day duties and gained team knowledge
Keep systems properly configured, updated, healthy, hardened and scaled to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Info Sys, Computer Science, or related fields
Experience:
1+ year of professional IT experience
1+ year experience supporting workstations, servers and/or storage systems
Skills/Abilities:
Virtualization technologies such as VMware vCenter/ESXi
Linux and/or Windows Server administration
Familiar with backup and recovery software
Familiar with Server and Storage hardware and current technology tends
Basic understanding of Networking/Firewall architecture and technologies
Troubleshooting computers and technology
Read and understand technical manuals and process guides
Evaluate critical systems and components
Written and verbal communication skills
