Position Description

Manages financial performance, client retention, and contract management across health plan markets.  

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Leads achievement of overall P&L target(s) for Government Programs health plan-related business and client-aligned financial performance goals. 
  • Interviews, hires, trains, develops, and evaluates staff to meet corporate, team, and individual retention goals and objectives. 
  • Maintains meaningful and value-driven relationships with clients, vendors, agents, consultants, community stakeholders, and internal staff. 
  • Acts in a consultative role to review, implement, and pilot innovative product/service offerings unique to Government Programs.
  • Analyzes market performance and identifies operational deficiencies/issues and creates scalable solutions.  Provides regular updates to senior and executive management on issues affecting sales and retention.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key decision-making individuals at each client/prospect to ensure retention of current client base and development of new opportunities, including regular engagement via individual calls, meetings, benefit conferences, entertainment, and special events. 
  • Develops strategies and executes associated tactics to acquire new Government Program business.  
  • Drives creation of short- and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives that support broader corporate strategy.  Actively assesses and realigns business area focus and design as needed to meet core strategic goals.  
  • Hands-on involvement in implementing network, product, and service development strategies customized for different lines-of-business and programs.
  • Develops, reviews, and presents data to demonstrate value of Delta Dental through product innovation, unique service offerings, enhanced benefits, cost savings, and other markers important to the client and their respective program(s).
  • Participates in business and professional organizations to develop relationships and improve knowledge base.

Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.
