Job Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Public K-12 Charter School -- Ogden, Utah Pay Rate: $110 per day Employment Type: As Needed
Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of regular teachers. This position requires flexibility, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to engage students in a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to maintain continuity in instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful learning atmosphere.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and grade levels (K-12).
- Take attendance and ensure students remain on task throughout the day.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and assigned duties such as lunch or recess.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and report any issues or concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and adjust to different grade levels and subject areas.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage with students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and adaptable.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with state and school policies.
