Lineage Logistics Procurement Manager, IT in Novi, Michigan

Procurement Manager manages all procurement efforts for contract manufacturing and vendor partners to ensures that quality, safety, cost, and delivery standards are met. This position also oversees day to day operations of the office, which prepares, negotiates, and manages contracts, bids and quotes for the procurement of services, equipment, materials, supplies, and products related to the manufacturing, repair and management of our private insulated and refrigerated railcar fleet. Develops and maintains a high level of technical skills. Develops strong and ongoing relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, vendor partners and key industry experts to advance our competitive position in the industry. Communications with other Managers as a team to ensure quality service is another key area for this position. The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter and multitasker who works well under pressure and follows through on tasks. We are looking for a strong team member who leads by example and keeps the team informed of changes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for inventory management including min/max levels management, annual physical inventory process management, order management, and management of old reefer unit sales

  • Responsible for sourcing and quoting including purchasing scope and requirements, vendor identification and vetting, requisition requirements, Lineage purchasing buy-in, bid execution, and vendor onboarding

  • Establishing and managing to key vendor KPIs to drive quality improvements, continuous improvement projects to improve performance and cost reduction strategies to improve financial performance of the business unit

  • Manager of invoice management and audit oversight which includes CER alignment, invoice audit to contract, and spend tracking

  • Implementer of vendor management, including setup, vendor issue resolution, design and execution and product Q&A

  • Owner of the audit plan, execution and compliance management with vendor relations

  • Purchase Order / contract development and management for key vendor partner relationships

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product design support to drive innovation, improve service and increase customer satisfaction through continuous improvement

  • New product development support that helps drive innovative solutions in support of new market strategies and equipment types

  • Specialist in industry engagement including AAR relationship, supplier relationships, and trade shows

  • P&L management and annual budget responsibilities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent work experience; degree strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 7 yrs. exp in global sourcing and vendor management

  • Experience in product development / services innovation a must

  • Demonstrated experience in the following: Design, implementation sourcing strategies and supplier KPIs is a must

  • Lean / Six Sigma or ISO 9001 experience required

  • Contract management experience is a must

  • Proven project management experience

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strategic mindset is critical (business case development; kaizen/continuous improvement program management; development of strategic priorities)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Must be able to manage ambiguity and be self-directed

  • 35% travel; U.S. and Mexico

  • Selected candidate must have a high degree of intellectual agility and be self-directed in their learning
