Position Purpose
The bus paraprofessional will assist the educational process by assisting the transportation of students in a safe, orderly, and timely manner.
Essential Job Functions
Assists students to seats and appropriately secures students in child restraint systems and wheelchair restraint systems if necessary.
Assists driver with maintaining discipline on the bus.
Assists driver with emergency bus evacuation if necessary.
Provides information on the bus route to substitute drivers on an as needed basis.
Understands and abides by confidentiality mandates.
Assists students as needed.
Understands and is able to use the wheelchair lift on the bus as needed.
Maintains data on students as required.
Fosters effective communication with students, parents, and other staff members.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervising staff.
