Josselyn Maintenance Supervisor in Northbrook, Illinois

Essential Responsibilities and Metrics

  • Oversees operation of various types of property to ensure safe, reliable facilities with tenant satisfaction. Driving to visit site locations as required.

  • Performs building inspections and make recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and improvement of building systems such as structural, roofing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Acts as a resource for staff to trouble-shoot system breakdowns and deficiencies.

  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of building systems.

  • Receives and assigns work orders from various locations.

  • Communicates with property manager on outstanding issues for resolution.

  • Conceptualizes, designs, implements, and operates necessary programs to ensure compliance with various governmental and company programs, policies, codes, and requirements.

  • Manages assigned projects using resources available.

  • Identifies, establishes, and manages contracts to support those areas of facility operation beyond the scope of assigned staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish training, preventive maintenance, safety, and other building operations related programs.

  • Assists in moving furniture and setting up workstations.

  • Assists the Facility Manager with construction projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facility systems

  • Knowledge of PPE

  • Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority

  • Ability to work the allocated hours of the position and ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays due to adverse weather conditions, construct projects, etc.
