As the Manager, Software Engineering, you willdesign and develop new software by applying techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis that satisfies the objectives stated in business requirements. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Design and develop new software by applying techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis that satisfies the objectives stated in business requirements.

• Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, project managers, systems administrators, and operations analysts to deploy and implement solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Evaluate and select process and logic patterns, programming language constructs, data storage methods, and operating environment interfaces that effectively satisfy business

• requirements and quantifiable measures; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established department standards.

• Evaluate new technologies for inclusion in developed software solutions; introduce new industry standards and techniques that deliver improved software solutions.

• Strategize about product modifications or improvements as a result of customer feedback. People management, Meetings with business managers and stakeholders, Administrative tasks like time and budget evaluation, Project Management and Release Management.

• Eligible for telecommuting from home within reasonable commuting distance from North Richland Hills, TX. Will require physical presence at worksite in North Richland Hills, TX at least several days a week.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology (IT), or closely related.

• Five (5) years’ post Master’s progressive experience in all of the following:

• Software design and development in Java rest services

• IT software development methodologies for designing rest API

• Implement IT projects for business efficiency.

• Three (3) year’ post Master’s progressive experience in the following:

• Training developers on software development best practices.
