POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs routine tasks in support of Account Receivable & Payable transactions. The Accounting Specialist will participate in customer calls, collecting cash, and reconciling the aging reports. Prepares records, verifies, and reports accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processes invoices, performing verifications of invoice accuracy

Post transactions to receivable ledger accounts

Assists with month-end closing functions as required

Collaborate with contracts department and otherfunctions to collect aged invoices Maintains appropriate filing systems for financial documentation

Email and call customer contacts to resolve outstanding balances

Apply received payments to outstanding invoices

Review and research aging reports

Participates in various audits including financial and SOX audits

Other ad-hoc financial analyses as required or assigned

Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other company policies and procedures Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or a Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years of experience: min 3+ years or more of relevant experience preferably in a corporate or manufacturing

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable processes and the ability to coordinate activities for the team

Excellent internal and external customer service skills

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills required

Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in changing situations Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select situations from established options

Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills drive tasks to completion

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups) Experience with ERP system (SAP)
