Job Description

The role of the Legal Resources & Culture Manager at AbbVie entails supporting Culture, technology and business process initiatives within the Legal organization. Reporting to the Director of Legal and OEC EEDI Strategy, this position involves managing and executing complex projects, including large-scale congresses and events, while fostering strong relationships with Legal and Compliance. Key responsibilities include planning and executing training meetings, providing expertise in using technology tools like Zoom and Teams, and creating effective presentations and communications. The Manager will develop tactics for updating the Legal Portal, EEDI Central, managing content on SharePoint, and overseeing legal communications, such as drafting messages for the Legal organization and managing the EEDI Communications Team. The role also supports legal CLE & pro bono projects, and acts as a project manager for the EEDI Year in Review, requiring setting timelines and organizing meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

EEDI Project Manager

  • Drive content management (e.g., collection, design & review) for the monthly EEDI Newsletter.

  • Lead EEDI Communication team to ensure all volunteers are engaged and activated to provide support to EEDI newsletter, website management, and content review

  • Creative innovation in use of video and other media formats to engage colleagues and inspire excitement around EEDI programs.

  • Support EEDI Programs Lead in managing EEDI Projects with timelines, capturing project priorities and deliverables, and supporting with process of end of year reports

  • Support EEDI data collection to ensure reports are prepared for Sr. Leaders on a quarterly basis – skills with charts and final presentation essential

  • Support with Elevate program communications and logistical tactics

Legal Resources

  • Assist with the planning and execution of training series meetings.

  • Provide expertise in using Zoom, Teams, and setting up conference room video equipment.

  • Create and deliver effective presentations.

  • Edit videos and share them via SharePoint with the Legal Organization.

  • Oversee the onboarding of new employees, contractors and interns and assign tasks to the appropriate admin/onboarding specialist.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and resource for Legal department admins for new hire onboarding.

Legal & EEDI Technology Tools

  • Develop strategies and project plans for updating the Legal client and Legal Employee portal,

  • Oversee user permissions for Legal Portal subsite owners.

  • Create documentation for site maintenance.

  • Organize and manage content on Legal SharePoint sites.

  • Provide content updates for EEDI Central, Connections, and CLE site pages.

  • Ensure the EEDI Central and LAB websites are updated monthly, and the content is relevant to all EEDI-related activities

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with communication coordination for the Legal organization, including VP’s messages and Pro bono

  • Collaborate on Pro Bono projects for hosting events that provide CLE credit

  • Manage and publish department CLE and Pro Bono events via email.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field required.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Organizational Management.

  • Requires excellent relationship management and communication skills as well as seasoned judgment, tact and the ability to work effectively with personnel at varying levels within the organization.

  • Excellent communicator, strong interpersonal skills, and effective in leading process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal working relationships.

  • Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Related experience in budgeting and financial management is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details

  • Ability to manage and lead teams.

Experience/Training Required:

  • Experience with SharePoint and Web Design tools.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, including Teams, OneNote, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Canva required; Video editing as strongly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Adaptability to changing business priorities.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
