Job Description

The Global R&D Study Forecasting Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the Neuroscience study forecasting group. This position drives the planning and execution of forecasting outputs and analysis for Plan, LBE, LRP and Portfolio submissions. The manager establishes standards across the team by coordinating analysis, study cost valuations, and improving business process. The manager is an integral partner for the clinical program development and business development organizations by providing insights and analysis needed for governance decisions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops and trains staff members to expand their skill sets while positioning their team to be ready to support the growing needs of the business

  • Proactively understands the interdependencies of clinical trial study costs so that they can provide clear financial advice and transparency to both clinical and finance partners

  • Establishes strategic process improvements based on lessons learned, data, analysis findings, and innovation

  • Highly competent in analyzing clinical contracts and evaluating historical data trends to develop better forecasting

  • Ensures team meets timelines for financial processes by updating forecasts at a regular cadence

  • Conducts scenario planning and costing of clinical studies to support portfolio submissions, key strategic governance meetings and business development opportunities

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. Degree in finance and/or health/life sciences preferred with a minimum of 8+ years of progressive relevant experience.

  • Proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills

  • Thorough understanding of financial management, budget processes, forecasting, data analysis and expense valuation metrics

  • Ability to create robust business processes

  • Perform quality oversight to ensure integrity and accuracy of forecasting outputs

  • Experience building teams with the appropriate mix of capabilities, as well as coaching and training team members to be collaborative business partners

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to delegate to staff to manage multiple priorities and drive agility and accountability.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, prioritize and respond to changing needs of the business

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
