Purpose

The Global Compliance Audit Associate Director has the primary function to lead/manage global sales and marketing, corporate functions, and other healthcare compliance audits. The role will assist the Director with annual risk assessments and be expected to form relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to understand business risks for US/International locations and recommend a thoughtful audit approach. The role will also manage the audit plan, scope, and execution of audits and formulate recommendations for improvement in operating performance and controls. The scope of compliance audits may include, but is not limited to, the following areas:
Anti-Bribery / Anti-Corruption
Promotional / Non-promotional practices
Third Party Relationships
Grants & Donations/Research Funding
Monitoring & Transparency Reporting
Patient Support Programs
Contracting / Pricing
Privacy Laws
AbbVie has a strong culture of career development wherein the Global Compliance Associate Director plays a key role for Senior Compliance Auditors. The Associate Director will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, developing, and providing active career counseling for Senior Auditors. This position will have 6 direct reports.
Responsibilities
Plan, manage, execute, and report compliance audits worldwide at operating locations.
Supervise compliance audit staff during the course of audits.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication when engaging with auditee management, cross-functional leadership, and audit team members.
Apply intelligent considerations and sound risk-based reasoning when evaluating audit findings.
Identify key risks and plan audits accordingly to address those risks.
Find opportunities for improvements in sales and marketing compliance practices when measured against corporate policies, local country policies and procedures, industry standards, and laws/regulations.
Drive departmental innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and introducing new ways of improving efficiency and agility.
Additionally, the incumbent must demonstrate an ability to discern matters that need to be elevated to senior management and must exercise sound judgment.
The position requires travel of approximately 10-30%.
Qualifications
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. A graduate degree is desirable. CFE, CPA, MBA, or law degree (JD) is a plus.
The incumbent should have at least 8-10 years of related work experience. The ideal candidate will have global experience in the life sciences industry, with knowledge of the unique business and compliance risks in the industry.
Experience with analytical tools and techniques to detect compliance risk (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Qlik)
A balance of audit experience and experience working in commercial and/or compliance-oriented roles is preferred. Specific experience and knowledge related to healthcare compliance, healthcare institution, government reimbursement mechanisms, pharmaceutical sales & marketing programs, and anti-corruption laws is preferred.
Proven experience collaborating to drive solutions which are compliant, and value added.
Strong time management and project management skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to all levels of the company.
Strong recruiting, people development and coaching skills to attract and retain a team of highly motivated professionals.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $133,500 - $253,500
