Job Summary

The Center for Civic Engagement, which administers the Civic Engagement and Responsibility Minor, (an Interdisciplinary Studies Minor) seeks to build a pool of non-tenure track instructor applicants to be drawn from during the 2025-2026 academic year. Applications are accepted and reviewed as vacancies become available. There may not be an actual vacancy at the time you apply. Positions are part-time and may only be for one semester at a time, depending on School needs.\ These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.

Illinois State University offers major and minor programs in Interdisciplinary Studies that allow students to synthesize knowledge that spans two or more academic disciplines. This interdisciplinary minor prepares students to enact social change and develop an awareness of personal social responsibility, including active community engagement. Students in the minor collaborate with community partners to create a more just and equitable world. The minor gives students opportunities to sharpen their analysis of social issues, practice public problem-solving skills, reflect on civic engagement experiences with an appreciation for individual and community strengths, and enact a commitment to ethical civic action.
