Blue Grass Energy Member Services Dispatcher in Nicholasville, Kentucky

OBJECTIVESTo handle outage calls, operate outage management, SCADA and other automation systems. To assist members with service inquiries.To handle varying member service requests in a professional and courteous manner providing excellent member service between the member, the general public and within the Cooperative.To efficiently use organizational skills to handle multiple requests during periods of high call volume (outages, disconnect days, etc.).RESPONSIBILITIESAnswers incoming calls in a professional and timely manner and ensuring calls are properly handled.Processes payments by phone.Assists in AMI system daily operation.Runs nightly reports and processes certain service orders.Makes service interruption reports and immediately contacts line technicians on duty.Coordinates with members, line technicians and operations personnel. Creates, files and maintains records and service memos and other company records.Operates outage management system along with PORCHE, SCADA and other automation systems.Makes independent decisions concerning outages and member concerns.Secures buildings and equipment and makes routine visual checks.Scans documents for storage in imaging system.Tests, calibrates and repairs electric meters.Enters and maintains meter test records.Follows Blue Grass Energy Safety Manual as well as Blue Grass Energy policies and procedures.DISCLAIMERThis job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.POSITION SPECIFICATIONSEducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Work ExperiencePrior dispatching experience is desirableKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESMust be able to multi-task during various working environments. Ability to use logic, reasoning, and analysis when making decisions. Vision/color perception and hearing are required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. Must be a team player. The ability to use diplomacy and work with members positively is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRequired to pass a physical examination when employed. Must have sufficient health to perform the essential functions, duties and responsibilities of the job. Occasionally (1-33%) lifts up to 50 lbs., carries up to 10 lbs.
