Job Overview:

TheFood Service Workerwill perform a wide variety of routine tasks in cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, dish & pot washing areas as needed. This role will complete assigned tasks according to standard practices and procedures complying with regulatory requirements, ensuring that customer needs are met to satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Successful completion of site personnel general orientation

  • Successful completion of department specific orientation

  • Must meet requirements of ADA standards

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory or accrediting agency standards, (i.e JCAHO, DOH, OSHA & SBHCS compliance program)

  • Maintain established policies and procedures, standards and practices in food preparation to achieve departmental objectives in high quality, nutritional meals

  • Ensures confidential treatment of all communications and records of management and patient

  • Stock the cafeteria with appropriate foods e.g. hot and cold foods, baked goods, beverages, desserts and condiments

  • Set up menu boards and reflect current menu

  • Know menu, portion sizes and direct customers to current prices.

  • Work register, get customers through in a fast-efficient manner. Listen to customers and communicates customer concerns to manager

  • Utilize appropriate infection control practices such as hand washing, food handling

  • Utilizes and adheres to proper precautions with hazardous materials and proper waste disposal

  • Wipe off counters and tables, arrange, and replenish items

  • Keep station neat, clean and fully stocked at all times.

  • Keep dining room tables straightened and clean with salt and paper shakers on each tables

  • Clean and sanitize work area and all equipment.

  • Follow all department safety and sanitation rules and guidelines including state and HACCP. Collects processes and disposes of trash, cans, bottles, recyclables to disposal area properly

  • Performs general routine cleaning duties and non-routine duties as directed
