New York University Postdoctoral Associate (Kussell Lab) in New York, New York

The Kussell lab at NYU Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Postdoctoral Associate.

Current projects in the Kussell lab investigate gene regulation and phenotypic memory as well as stochastic switching in bacteria.

Planned projects require a high degree of proficiency in experimental quantitative microbiology, including epifluorescence microscopy and custom microfluidics, as well as prior experience in recombineering techniques in Escherichia coli.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 – $63,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD, have prior research experience using lambda recombineering, next-generation sequencing, plasmid engineering, quantitative epifluorescence microscopy, ability to build, modify, and use custom microfluidics devices, as well as all standard microbiology techniques. Prior experience in quantitative microbiology is required.
