Paramount Legal Assistant in New York, New York
OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Business and Legal Affairs division for BET Media Group is seeking a Legal Assistant to support three attorneys.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Organizing and administering the execution of agreements internally (e.g. centralized document management system) and externally; digitally filing and saving agreements into document database; emailing, photocopying, printing and scanning.
Drafting correspondence, deal summaries, contract amendments, and legal memos; Preparing, maintaining and updating various contract and deal logs, including tracking status of contracts.
Scheduling and booking meetings & conference rooms; coordinating internal and external meetings; booking travel and accommodations; processing T&E reports; ordering supplies; arranging office services; and responding to facility issues
Effectively communicating with BET Business & Legal Affairs team members and attorneys, cross-departmental client communication, communicating across Paramount's Business & Legal Affairs Department at all levels within BET and Paramount, including senior executives.
Must be able to understand and quickly execute assignments and independently follow through on multiple tasks.
Must have the flexibility to work overtime as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of administrative experience required; law firm or agency experience preferred
BA or other undergraduate degree
High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign software
Display tremendous attention to detail including exceptional proofreading skills
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills including, without limitation, maintaining composure and a professional demeanor
Exceptional organizational skills with ability to multitask, properly prioritize and meet deadlines in connection with a considerable workload from multiple supervisors
Highly motivated and resourceful self-starter with excellent follow-through skills
Proven ability to maintain positive attitude and work collaboratively in a demanding and fast paced environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Successfully anticipate and properly resolve administrative issues/problems without relying on input or direction, while understanding when input/direction is appropriate and/or required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $50,000.00 - 60,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
