Overview

Direct construction of ground up, large scale science and technical construction projects up to $500 million in costs, as well as provide management to junior project teams composed of internal and external staff, managing their own large complex science/technical constructionprojects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with the University and client requirements. Perform complex financial reviews of capital projects and develop and oversee the implementation of capital construction policies, procedures, and project templates. Enforce standard project procedures for evaluation of proposals, bids, and contractor performance and effectively communicate project status with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.Required Experience:
7+ years progressive experience managing large scale complex technical projects, full building renovations of science and technology spaces (Wetlabs, Dry labs, Clinics, Vivariums, MRIs, Research Labs).Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education institution. 3-5 years of experience supervising experienced Project Managers and/or Senior Project Managers.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of a broad range of planning and construction principles and practices. Proven ability to plan and implement long-term strategies for managing complex projects and resources. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population. Familiarity with project budgeting approaches, risk forecasting, and scheduling skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project. Ability to manage large scale complex projects from inception to completion, while managing a team of project managers on smaller projects and team close-outs.


Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $160,000.00 to USD $200,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
