Google System Performance and Architecture Engineer, Silicon in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience in computer or chip architecture, performance, or software development for Compute Internet Protocol (IPs).

  • Experience with computer architecture, TPU/GPU architecture or workload performance analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., C/C++ or Python).

  • Experience in performance and power optimization.

  • Knowledge of GPU, TPU or ISP hardware architecture.

  • Knowledge of GPU or related vector program optimization or Generative AI model architectures.

  • Develop models, analyze and project power and performance of compute-centric hardware IP blocks (e.g., Compute IPs) on a mobile System on a Chip (SoC), including Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) and Internet Service Provider (ISP) pre- and post-Silicon.

  • Study the behavior of various computer, gaming and AI workloads executing on the SoC, identify bottlenecks and opportunities for hardware and software co-optimization.

  • Propose improvements in the hardware architecture of the Compute IPs or SoC-level with the compiler, runtime or application software.
