Google Senior Battery System Power Modeling Engineer, Fitbit Trackers in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in system design, software development, power and performance analysis.

  • Experience in programming (Python or C).

  • Experience with Embedded System, SoC, and Software design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in SoC design and embedded software especially for products.

  • Experience with system power modeling, simulation, and optimization.

  • Experience with hardware acceleration for image, display, or audio signal processing workloads.

  • Understanding of system power and use-case power consumption for Day of Use (DoU) analysis and low power processing.

  • Ability to drive hardware/software partition and co-optimization in a data driven way.

As a Hardware System Architect, you will be responsible for the system architecture ownership of the Fitbit tracker product line to optimize performance within the battery and power constraints. You will be working with cross-functional software, hardware, product management, battery, and other subsystems teams to understand product use cases, develop system-level power models, and work with SoC vendors to optimally use their silicon as well as give them feedback to improve future products.

  • Lead the system architecture technical engagement with SoC vendors and strive to understand internals of the SoC to help us get the most performance for the lowest power.

  • Develop, utilize tools, and scripts to characterize systems for power consumption analysis.

  • Work with System Software and System Electrical Engineering teams to assist in the creation of power projection algorithms and Day of Use (DoU) battery model.

  • Drive SoC/DDR and other subsystems power/performance trade-off analysis and optimizations.

  • Help with implementation of innovative new power optimizing features across hardware and software.
