Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be working alongside both our Quality and Environmental Health and Safety team at our New Kent, Virginia facility. Supporting the needs of quality engineering in support of the Relocatable Over the Horizon Radar (ROTHR).

NOTE - this role is NOT relocation eligible

What you will do:

Under general direction of the ROTHR Quality Manager, the effective candidate will:

  • This position is an onsite role working a 5-day work week.

  • Provide technical quality assurance services for the ROTHR Virginia Radar System on a contractual basis to a government contract located in New Kent, Virginia.

  • Provide quality assurance activities as defined in the Quality Program Plan for the customer with a view toward maximizing effectiveness.

  • Ensure Raytheon services/product will be in accordance with the ROTHR Contract, the ROTHR Quality Program Plan (QPP), quality assurance and control procedures, subcontract specifications, and other ROTHR program directives, policies, and procedures.

  • Will track equipment/documentation changes and coordinate changes/updates between the ROTHR Site Managers and organizations originating changes in accordance with established configuration policy and established documentation controls and procedures.

  • Will maintain the necessary data base(s) to meet quality monitoring and statistical technique requirements.

  • Under general direction of the ROTHR Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, the effective candidate will:

  • Categorize current and historical records of Material Safety Data Sheets and or Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs/SDSs), properly storing chemicals by compatibility, properly disposing of used product/containers or preparing for customer pickup.

  • Review chemicals or hazardous products purchased in accordance with the ROTHR Authorized Use List.

  • Maintain and report metrics on chemical or hazardous product use, solid and hazardous waste management, life safety systems, and employee health testing which meets federal, state and regional guidelines

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, you must have 6 years of relevant engineering experience

  • Previous experience conducting internal audits within the ISO:9001Quality and Safety standards including OSHA.

  • Experience using maintenance management information systems and access parts and equipment drawings and configuration systems.

  • Previous experience in data analysis and report generation

  • Experience in radar/facilities maintenance quality oversight including implementation of quality programs along with conducting assessments and inspections.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Previous experience with electronics

  • Ability to effectively work with people at all levels of the organization; analyze situations accurately and make timely and effective recommendations; interpret safety and environmental laws, regulations, and quality standards; plan and present safety training programs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.

  • Strong reporting capabilities to gather, organize, and analyze data and complete comprehensive reports.

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of safety, occupational health, and loss prevention programs.

  • Certified or able to obtain/maintain certification in hazardous waste shipment.

  • Functional knowledge and experience using maintenance management information systems and ability to access parts and equipment drawings and configuration systems.

  • Experience with methods of assessing safety hazards and controls, conducting accident investigations and safety inspections.

  • Experience in evaluating and implementing a comprehensive safety program; training techniques.

  • Ability to effectively work with people at all levels of the organization; analyze situations accurately and make timely and effective recommendations; interpret safety and environmental laws, regulations, and quality standards; plan and present safety training Programs.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
