Job Title: Quality Assurance Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to join our team. This individual will work under the Quality Manager and initially focus on managing sanitization requirements, with the goal of taking on more quality assurance responsibilities over time. The role involves ensuring strict adherence to sanitization processes and procedures in a food processing facility that produces cold-pressed juices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sanitization process and procedures in the food processing facility.

  • Ensure daily cleaning processes are followed to meet FDA requirements.

  • Oversee a team of machine operators to ensure proper cleaning and procedure adherence.

  • Conduct equipment tests to check for mold, bacteria, and dirt during FDA audits.

  • Prevent production line shutdowns by maintaining high sanitization standards.

  • Audit paperwork and facilities to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.

  • Provide feedback to workers who do not meet sanitizing standards and stress the importance of proper cleaning.

Essential Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.

  • Experience in cleaning and sanitizing food equipment.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Experience in quality assurance or inspecting.

  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and HACCP principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred.

  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, AS, and other regulated environments.

  • Experience with SQF Facility cleaning, PCQI, or HACCP is a plus.

  • Strong personality to manage and provide feedback to the production team.

  • Basic proficiency in Word and Excel for report submission and temperature monitoring.

Work Environment

This is a food and beverage production facility that operates in a chilled environment to maintain juice at specific temperatures. The role requires adherence to strict sanitization and quality standards to ensure product safety and compliance with FDA regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
